Welcome to the Missouri State Parks Foundation website. In partnership with the Missouri State Park System, our mission is to create and sustain an outstanding collection of scenic parks and recreation areas, and to preserve and protect significant environmental areas and historical and cultural sites.
We are a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization. We are not part of any state agency or department. The Foundation was incorporated in 2001 and our Board of Directors is made up entirely of volunteers. The Foundation is independent, but we work harmoniously with other Park System support organizations and the Park Department's master plan for developing and improving resources.
We are working on a number of projects. Please click on the "Projects" tab above to explore each one and see what we've been up to. We also have tabs above for you to meet our Staff and Board members.
If you like what we do, please consider donating. Donations are tax-deductible and can be made in the form of stocks, bonds, memorials, bequeths, cash, check, or credit card. We've also made it easy for you to donate on our website. Just click the "Donate Now" tab below!
Thanks for visiting our site and please feel free to contact us for more information.

Ground Breaking and Ribbon Cutting
The Ground Breaking for the Missouri River Pedestrian Bridge on May 12th was an exciting day for the Missouri State Parks Foundation. With over 100 people in attendance, we listened as various members of the community spoke to the significance of the bridge in relation to Missouri, the Katy Trail, and the Capital. Our Board President, Whitney Kerr, spoke to the success of the Parks Foundation, in that our first major fundraising project is now on its way to completion. The Holts Summit Katy Trail Spur had its official ribbon cutting on May 12th as well. The spur gives riders an official trail that creates ease of access to the Holts Summit Winery and on into Holts Summit. One of our generous board members gave significantly to the project and was surprised that the spur will be named in his honor. The John Sweet Spur is now open and ready for riders.
